Carson Mayor Albert Robles Endorses Senator Holly Mitchell for County Supervisor

CARSON, CA – Today State Senator Holly Mitchell announced that she earned the endorsement of Carson Mayor Albert Robles. In announcing his support for Senator Holly Mitchell, Carson Mayor Robles, a primary opponent for the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, District 2, declared, “During the course of the campaign, I got to hear Senator Mitchell discuss and address many important policy matters, and see her build a diverse and strong coalition of individuals and stakeholders from throughout the Second Supervisorial District. Moreover, since the March Primary election, Senator Mitchell has continued to show leadership and prove herself throughout the Summer as a strong and knowledgeable advocate for all the residents of the Second District, and therefore it is with great confidence that I announce my endorsement of the best choice for LA County Supervisor, and proudly endorse Senator Holly J. Mitchell.”

“The ability to build diverse coalitions from throughout the Second District is more important than ever as we address the COVID-19 pandemic, which unfortunately is highlighting and exacerbating the disparate impacts confronted by diverse communities, especially in (i) reduced economic opportunities, (ii) public education not as comparable to affluent communities, (iii) less quality housing, (iv) reduced access to quality health care, (v) need for criminal justice reform, and (vi) the increased poverty in the Second District. I believe Senator Mitchell is the best candidate to represent the Second District during this crisis, address the myriad of issues facing the Second District, and lead us forward with integrity, empathy and a strong sense of justice,” continued Mayor Robles.

“Mayor Robles’ support means a lot to me. The Second Supervisorial District doesn’t only include the city of Los Angeles, but it also has eight other cities: Carson, Compton, Culver City, Gardena, Hawthorne, Inglewood, Lawndale and Lynwood,” shared Senator Holly Mitchell, “collaborating across all communities will be the key to improving: economic opportunities, public education, access to quality affordable housing, access to quality health care, true criminal justice reform, and ultimately ending the vicious cycle of poverty that disproportionately impacts residents of the Second Supervisorial District. I look forward to working closely with Mayor Robles to tackle all these pressing issues for our shared constituents.”

Carson Mayor Albert Robles joins a distinguished list of elected officials also endorsing Senator Holly Mitchell with constituents throughout the Second Supervisorial District, including: Governor Gavin Newsom, Assemblymember Sydney Kamlager-Dove, Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts Jr., Los Angeles City Councilman David Ryu, Compton Councilwoman Michelle Chambers and Culver City Councilmembers Meghan Sahli-Wells, Daniel Lee and Alex Fisch and many more.

Senator Holly Mitchell is in the runoff for the open seat to represent the Second Supervisorial District on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and will be on the ballot for the November 3, 2020 General Election. To learn more, visit
