Congresswoman Nanette Diaz Barragán endorses Holly Mitchell for Los Angeles County Supervisor
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congresswoman Nanette Diaz Barragán (CA-44) endorsed Senator Holly Mitchell in the race for the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Second Supervisorial District seat. Congresswoman Barragán represents portions of the Second Supervisorial District including Carson, Compton, Lynwood, Willowbrook and Rancho Dominguez.
“I believe Holly Mitchell is the best candidate to lead the diverse communities of the Second Supervisorial District,” said Congresswoman Barragán. “LA County is facing a myriad of challenges from criminal justice inequity to increased housing and economic strife in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Senator Mitchell has proven herself to be a thoughtful and effective leader for the one million Angelenos she serves. She knows how to handle difficult issues. She is the type of leader the LA County Board of Supervisors needs right now.”
“I am honored to have the endorsement of Congresswoman Barragán, whom I consider an inspirational leader in Congress,” said Senator Mitchell. “District 2 is indeed diverse, and that diversity makes us stronger. I look forward to working with Congresswoman Barragán on issues like environmental justice, job creation and access to affordable healthcare in our shared communities.”
Congresswoman Barragán joins a growing list of elected leaders who have endorsed Holly Mitchell including Governor Gavin Newsom, former Governor Jerry Brown, State Superintendent Tony Thurmond, Los Angeles City Councilmember David Ryu, Compton City Councilmember Michelle Chambers, Lynwood Unified School Board President Gary Hardie Jr. and many more.
