Senator Holly Mitchell Takes Lead in LA County Board of Supervisors Race District 2
LOS ANGELES – California State Senator Holly J. Mitchell has taken a lead in the race for Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors District 2. A poll conducted by Evitarus Research of likely March 2020 primary voters showed a seven-point advantage for Senator Mitchell over Los Angeles Council President Herb Wesson and former City Councilwoman Jan Perry.
Senator Mitchell captures 14% of the vote, while Wesson and Perry each receive 7%. Notably, Senator Mitchell’s support nearly doubles to 29% as voters learn more about her work to address the homeless crisis, fight for housing affordability and efforts to deliver mental health services in our communities. After learning more about their biographies, former Councilwoman Perry gets 14% of the vote and Councilman Wesson receives 14%.
The poll also highlights Sen. Mitchell’s momentum to not only generate support, but enthusiasm around her candidacy. The survey reported a 80% “favorable” view of Senator Mitchell, with 53% reporting a “very favorable” view.These number provide a clear picture of the excitement for Senator Mitchell’s campaign.
