Congresswoman Katie Porter Endorses Senator Holly Mitchell for Supervisor

LOS ANGELES - U.S. Representative Katie Porter (CA-45) announced today her endorsement of State Senator Holly Mitchell for Los Angeles County Supervisor. Rep. Porter’s endorsement follows major endorsements from Senator Bernie Sanders, Rep. Maxine Waters and Supervisor Hilda Solis.

“Holly Mitchell is a champion for working families and a voice for the most vulnerable members of her community,” Porter said. “Her plans to expand access to health care and particularly mental health services, her environmental justice agenda, and her proven track record of passing balanced budgets that reflect our values are all reasons to support her candidacy. Los Angeles County will benefit from a pragmatic progressive leader like her.”

“Rep. Katie Porter is the gold standard of strong leadership and I am honored to have her endorsement,” Mitchell said. “Her advocacy for transparency and accountability in government is something I hope to emulate on the Board of Supervisors. Rooting out corruption at all levels is the only way to protect our constituents and make the system more equitable for all.”

Rep. Porter is the latest high-profile endorsement for Holly Mitchell, following Sen. Bernie Sanders, Gov. Gavin Newsom, Rep. Nanette Barragán (CA-44), former Gov. Jerry Brown, and dozens of other state and local leaders.

Mitchell is in the run-off for Los Angeles County’s Second Supervisorial Seat. To learn more about Holly Mitchell and her platform, visit

“What I am proud of as a candidate is that I have not had to pivot. I am continuing to talk about the kind of work that I have done for ten years as an elected leader.” Thank you @theLAndmagazine for the opportunity to discuss my ideas for #LACounty.
