LOS ANGELES, CA – Senator Holly J. Mitchell lands powerful slate of local endorsements from State and City Council elected officials in Supervisorial District 2. Assemblymember Sydney Kamlager-Dove, Inglewood Mayor James Butts, Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara and Culver City Councilmembers Meghan Sahli-Wells, Daniel Lee and Alex Fisch join Governor Gavin Newsom in standing with Holly J. Mitchell for County Supervisor.

Current Assemblymember for the 54th District and former colleague of Holly J. Mitchell during her tenure as CEO of Crystal Stairs -- the largest early child development non-profit in Los Angeles County -- Sydney Kamlager-Dove shared "I've known Holly for nearly twenty years. She is an exceedingly skilled and highly principled legislator. Her foremost concern is always what's best for her constituents. Holly's blend of intelligence, compassion and guts make her perfectly suited to serve on the Board of Supervisors. In the two decades I have known her, she has never wavered in her commitment to the public good.”

Holly J. Mitchell’s life long career of advocating for and creating solutions that support children and working families is why she was named “the moral compass of the state legislature” by the Los Angeles Times. Mitchell has proven herself to be one of the most effective legislatures having passed 70 bills including; unprecedented criminal justice reforms under the #EquityandJustice package co-authored by Ricardo Lara, former Senator of California’s 33th District; which is in Supervisorial District 2, and current California Insurance Commissioner.

"Having worked with Holly to pass #EquityandJustice” said Ricardo Lara “a package of criminal justice reform bills to help ensure communities throughout Los Angeles County have a more equitable justice system - I know that as Supervisor, we will all benefit from Holly’s skilled leadership in addressing complex social challenges with solutions that serve the diverse needs of the county.”

Senator Mitchell currently serves nearly one million residents of the 30th Senate District which includes parts of Exposition Park, Leimert Park, Inglewood and all of Culver City. “To receive the endorsement of fellow elected officials who are working to connect policy to improving the lives of the people of District 2 is an honor” Holly J. Mitchell said. “I value their trust in my leadership to meet the unique needs of Los Angeles County residents.”

“Holly has consistently stood up for Culver City.” Said Meghan Sahli-Wells. “She is the perfect choice for County Supervisor. She is deeply committed to social and environmental justice, the well-being of children and the rights of women, while she expertly manages the State’s $200 billion budget. She is the perfect choice for County Supervisor.”

Holly J. Mitchell will be on the 2020 ballot to represent District 2 on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. To learn more about her candidacy visit www.HollyJMitchell.com
